What is BMI?
Body Mass Index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight. It's a quick way to assess whether your weight falls within a healthy range.
BMI Formula
BMI = Weight (kg) ÷ Height² (m²)
BMI Categories (WHO)

| Underweight | < 18.5 |
| Normal weight | 18.5 – 24.9 |
| Overweight | 25 – 29.9 |
| Obesity Class I | 30 – 34.9 |
| Obesity Class II | 35 – 39.9 |
| Obesity Class III | ≥ 40 |
Limitations of BMI
- • Does not differentiate between muscle and fat mass
- • May not be accurate for athletes with high muscle mass
- • Not suitable for pregnant women, children, or elderly
- • Does not account for body fat distribution
